Happy 4th of July!

I hope you all had a very happy 4th of July and got to spend time with all of your loved ones! We had a great day! The Lees came over this afternoon and we spent a couple of hours in the backyard. We let Jayden swim in his pool and he had a blast! We moved his slide so that when he slid down, he landed in the water. He loved it!
Jayden climbing on his slide.

He loves the water!

Sliding into the water.

Landing in the pool after sliding!

Big splash!

He loves blowing bubbles!

We cooked out and had hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, corn on the cob, and chips and dip. The corn on the cob was picked out of the field on Wednesday and was so fresh! We had lettuce, tomato, and onion from our garden. It was so good-there is nothing like veggies straight out of the garden! I don't think I have ever seen Jayden eat so much-he actually cleaned his plate!

Jayden loved the corn on the cob....

And the baked beans!

Mmmmm....dessert!

Jayden stuffed the entire chocolate-covered strawberry into his mouth!

When we were finished with dinner, we played Loaded Questions. We always have a great time playing that game. If you've never played, I would highly recommend it! Chris ended up winning, and I came in last place. I only ended up getting two questions correct! After we finished playing, we had watermelon. It was really good, and Jayden love it! He was such a good little eater today! :)

Sweet little boy!

Look at that dripping mess on his hands and belly...he loved it!

Such a serious face....

And a goofy one!!!

We were all ready to go to Reave's Park and watch the fireworks, but it was canceled due to a heavy rainstorm. The whole time I have lived in Oklahoma, I don't think the fireworks have ever been rained out. We were so disappointed. So...instead of going to the park to watch fireworks, we sat in our living room with the lights out and watched the fireworks in New York City on the television. Once the show was over, we got out our super-cool glow in the dark bracelets that we were going to take to the park, and played with them in our pitch-black living room! Definitely an interesting 4th of July celebration! But, since the fireworks were rained out, we just had to make our own! :)

Aunt Katie and Jayden watching the fireworks on TV.

Chris and Papa John watching the fireworks.

Not really how we imagined our 4th! (See the storm warning on the TV?!)

Jayden with his glow stick "fireworks!" If you look really closely, you can see Jayden!

More "fireworks!"

Sweet boy...he was disappointed that he didn't get to go watch the fireworks at the park.

Aunt Katie and Jayden with bright eyes!

Nonni's ear....had to get at least one picture of Nonni in here!

Aunt Katie put on a really cool show!

Well...that about does it for our 4th of July festivities! I hope you enjoyed seeing our special day and our improv fireworks show!

I love the game Loaded Questions! I haven't played it in ages though as my husband isn't so fond of it, hehe.

I also bought glow sticks for today and completely forgot to get them out. I guess we'll just have to play with them another time. Sounds like you all had a great 4th of July even if the fireworks were rained out!
